Frequently Asked Questions
What if my child has never skated before?
That’s exactly who this program is for! Coaches will start with the basics—how to stand up, balance, and move safely on the ice—using fun games and step-by-step instruction. No experience needed, just a helmet and skates!
Can parents skate with their child?
We ask that parents remain off the ice so our certified coaches can safely guide the skaters and maintain a consistent learning environment. In addition, parents are not covered under the USA Hockey insurance, which is required for all on-ice participants. You’re welcome to cheer from the bleachers and watch your skater’s progress each week!
What if my child catches on quickly or gets bored?
If your child masters the basics sooner than expected, our coaches will talk to you about moving your child up to the Learn to Play program so they stay challenged and continue learning new skills.
